My mom found a similar recipe years ago and always makes these for parties. I don’t know why I never made them before the other night, they were so good! Of course I did my own spin on it and added more ingredients and such to make the perfect tasty combo. I had leftover Filet Mignon so I added that into these this time but normally I would just do the Honey Roasted Turkey by itself.
If you haven’t tried Kirkland’s Honey Roasted Turkey Breast you’re really missing out. It’s SO yummy. I highly suggest using it with this recipe. Otherwise, you can use any honey roasted turkey or meat you’d like, I’m sure it would taste perfect. This recipe feeds 4-6 people! Even your kids should love these!
- 1 pack of King’s Hawaiian Sweet Rolls
- 1/2 cup homemade garlic butter (click to see recipe)
- 1 block colby jack cheese thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup pizza blend cheese
- 1 tsp honey
- 1 lb honey roasted turkey breast thinly sliced
- 1 tsp (approximately) garlic powder
- 1 tsp (approximately) onion powder
- 3 tsp worcestershire
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. First, you’re going to want to butter your pan and place the rolls on the pan as pictured. Then sliced the colby jack cheese as thinly as possible and placed it on the buns equally. After that I melted a tiny spoonful of garlic butter and added a pinch to every roll overtop of the cheese.
This step is optional; While doing this I also chopped up the turkey breast and started cooking it in a pan with 1 tsp honey and approximately 1 tsp garlic butter.
Next step I added some of the pizza blend shredded cheese and some pepper jack while the turkey was frying up.
For the third step I took the turkey and added it evenly to the buns. As stated before, I got pictures of me adding in the leftover steak, you can add other meats if you would like as well. I then added the rest of the pizza blend cheese. It’s okay if the pan is over filling- it will smoosh down once its cooked. Start melting the garlic butter in a pot and add in the worcheshire sauce.
Before adding the top bun you’re going to want to sprinkle the meat/cheese layers in garlic and onion powder. Once finished, you can put the top bun on. Then you can brush on the garlic butter and worcestershire sauce.
To make sure the cheese melts and the meat evenly heats up cover with foil and bake for about 20 minutes while covered. Once the cheese is all melted you can take the foil off and let cook 5 more minutes or until top buns are browned.
Enjoy while warm. ☺
These are also perfect leftover for lunch the next day and you can just heat them up in your air fryer or toaster oven at 325 degrees for 10 minutes.
