I’ve lived in Dayton all of my life and I feel like I’m pretty good at finding the fun. Whether that be
looking on facebook events for fun activities or staying up to date on all of the festivals and parades near me. 2020 changed that, because well….. we’re supposed to be social distancing right? As a stay at home mom, I start to go a little crazy staying at home all of the time and doing nothing week to week. I’m always looking for places to go and adventures to go on with my 2.5 year old. If you and your family are out of things to do in Dayton, Ohio… here’s a list of some of the most fun things my family and I have done together! All of these activities are fun for kids AND parents, what more could you ask for?

This one’s our current favorite! Kids Clubhouse in Springboro, Ohio is a new indoor play place that isn’t only for kids- but parents too. They have a multi-level soft play zone, a giant bounce house, and it is tons of fun for the whole family! We had family in town from Colorado Springs and had a blast with 5 kids and 4 adults! We were all up in the soft play zone and had a blast. With COVID in mind, they did an amazing job with social distancing non-family members while cleaning after everyone. Also, the workers were all extremely friendly. It really was so much fun! I highly recommend it- 10/10 for us. If you really want to get in fast with kids that dont like to wait- I suggest signing the waiver before arriving, which you can quickly and easily do online here.
Boonshoft Museum of Discovery -Dayton, Ohio

Normal Hours: Tuesday – Saturday: 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Sunday: 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. I’d make sure to call ahead or check their website here to make sure.
Boonshoft is a great place for kids of any age and even the parents too. It’s a fun educational place to go and get some energy out as well as learn about all sorts of things. I first took my son there when he was about 1 year old and we ended up buying a membership because it was something so easy and fun. It’s also nice because everytime you go back there is something different to do. They have a small indoor zoo, indoor playground, and interactive science museum activities.
Airforce Museum-Riverside, Ohio
Normal Hours: Everyday 9 a.m – 5 p.m
The National Museum of the U.S Air Force is the oldest and largest military aviation museum! It’s so fun to go learn and see all of the amazing things they have there. They have a restaurant inside to stop and eat lunch (super convenient). It’s a huge museum so you’ll definitely be able to go back again and again and still have more to see. It’s the perfect place to take any age, even adults. You can read more about what they have available to see here. If you’re not able to make the drive- you can also check out their free printable coloring pages.
Young’s Dairy-Dayton, Ohio
PRICE: FREE! // Cost of Ice Cream and Food
Hours: Monday-Friday 11am-9pm Saturday & Sunday 8am-9pm
Young’s Dairy has always been one of my very favorite places! Lucky for me, my son loves it just as much (maybe a little more) than me! If you haven’t heard of it before they amazing homemade ice cream and amazing food for super cheap! It’s so yummy. They have fun kid activities throughout the whole spring/summer/fall and even a few in the winter time. They have festivals there occasionally which are always fun to go to. Young’s Dairy also has a petting zoo, batting cages, putt-putt golf and a toddler fun zone! Around Christmas time you can go and even cut your own Christmas Tree and that’s always a blast too!
Learning Tree Farm-Dayton,Ohio
PRICE: $5.00 per person or $20 per family or group of 4 or more. Children 2 and under are FREE!
Hours: Monday- Saturday 10am-4pm and Sunday 12:30-4pm
Learning tree farm is a super budget friendly fun activity for little kids. It’s a traditional old farm that teaches people of any age all about farm animals. They have a cute little nature playground that’s really fun for kids. It’s mainly a petting zoo where you can visit the animals in their natural habitat. My son really enjoys feeding the horses and goats. One of his favorite parts there is when the cattle dogs come out and play with him. They’re sometimes busy with working but every once in awhile they come out to play with the kids and they’re so friendly.
PRICE: Depending on the size of your family; I would recommend checking their website here for specials!
Hours: This bowling alley has different hours every month but at the bottom of their website its super easy to find their hours!
Bowling is one of our family favorites, you can get food and fun on a budget! We normally get a pitcher or two while having a blast with our family. The bowling alley I have linked is definitely our favorite go-to because they have laser tag, an arcade, food, and bowling! Check it out!

Skyzone is a great place to go on cold rainy days when outdoor activities are not an option. It’s also a great choice for birthday parties or simply to let the kids run off excess energy. It’s an indoor trampoline park in Centerville, Ohio. Adults are allowed to jump with their kids and have just as much fun as them or even just sit it out and watch them play. They have also been doing an awesome job with cleaning and social distancing due to COVID. Another great thing about Skyzone is that they offer Toddler time on certain days before opening so your little babies can jump without all of the craziness.
Another indoor trampoline park, that I haven’t been to yet is Get Air in Miamisburg, Ohio–you can check it out, let me know if you go or have been!
